AUGUST TO DECEMBER 2010
SEWING SKILLS 1 - MACHINES
$30 for a 2 ½ hr class 10am to 12.30pm (one class only)
Friday 3rd September, or Saturday 4th September, or Friday 1st October, or
Friday 5th November, or Saturday 13th November, or Friday 3rd December.
Bring your sewing machine and receive a 2 ½ hr lesson covering maintenance and basic stitches and seams required to commence sewing.
Sample materials supplied.
SEWING SKILLS 2 - TECHNIQUES
$30 for a 2 ½ hr class 10am to 12.30pm (one class only)
Friday 17th September, or Saturday 18th September, or Friday 15th October, or
Friday 19th November, or Saturday 20th November, or Friday 17th December.
Bring your sewing machine and receive a 2 ½ hr lesson covering the use of different feet attachments for your machine such as buttonhole, zipper, blind hem, rolled hem and stitch samples of these with materials supplied.
SEWING SKILLS 3 – CONSTRUCTION
$20 for a 3hr class 10.00am to 1pm (one class only)
Friday 24th September, or Friday 22nd October, or Friday 26th November.
Bring your sewing machine and receive a 3hr lesson combining the skills & techniques you have learnt in the previous classes to produce a garment.
Techniques involved in garment will include: shirring with elastic, gathering, hemming, seams & overlocking, decorative stitching & embellishment.
(Additional costs for fabric and haberdashery requirements to be purchased from Sew City.)
LEARN YOUR OVERLOCKER
$30 for a 3 hr class 10am to 1pm (one class only)
Friday 10th Sept, or
Friday 8th October, or Saturday 9th October (School Holidays) or
Friday 12th November, or Friday 10th December.
Bring your overlocker and receive a 3 hr lesson covering maintenance and threading and all the different techniques your overlocker can do.
Materials supplied.
PATCHWORK/APPLIQUE/QUILTING
$15 for each 3 hr class 10am to 1pm
Mondays: September 6, 20, October, 18, November 1, 15, 29, December 13.
Wednesdays: August 11, 25, Sept 8, 22, 29, October 6, 20,
November 3, 17, December 1, 15.
Bring your own sewing machine and choose the method of patchwork & quilting that you want to learn.
You will receive assistance in all the techniques (e.g. rotary cutting, piecing, appliqué, binding and quilting) to complete your project.
Beautiful new range of patchwork fabrics, patterns & books available for purchase at Sew City.
GARMENT OR HANDBAG CONSTRUCTION
$15 for each 3hr class 10am to 1pm
Thursdays: Sept 2, 16, 30, October 14, 28, November 11, 25, December 9.
Bring your sewing machine and receive assistance in making a garment OR bag of your choice from Sew City’s beautiful collection of patterns, fabrics and haberdashery.
SATURDAY SIT AND SEW
$15 for each 3hr class 9.30 to 12.30
Saturdays: October 2, 16, 30, December 11.
Bring your sewing machine and receive assistance in making a project of your choice. Sew City has an extensive range of patterns, books and fabrics to choose from to make any of the following: a garment, handbag, patchwork/quilting item.
Or if you are from the Janome Embroidery Club and need an extra class to finish off your projects, this class can accommodate your UFO’s.
